NCCR together with International Graduate School organized Inernational Summer School 2018

NCCR together with IGS North-South (Inernational Graduate School North-South) from Switzerland organized this year summer school in Pokhara, Nepal. There were 31 PhD students from 17 different countries: from Bolivia to Nigerria with 12 Resource Persons from Nepal and from Switzerland, the school was grand success making 43 total participants in all together. We host this event from 28th August to 7th September 2018.

Inauguration was held on 29th August 2018 which was chair by Prof. Dr. Ulrike Mueller Boeker from University of Zurich and the board member of IGS North-South. Chief Guest Hanorable Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation from Gandak Province Mr. Bikash Lamsal was present through-out the program. During the program, Dr. Bishnu Raj Upreti, Research Director of NCCR welcome the guest and the participants with the objectives of summer school in brief. Prof. Dr. Thomas Breu, Director of IGS North-South gave inseight on the IGS North-South with its objectives and philosophy. An introductory part on the urban issues were taken by Dr. Bishnu Raj Upreti and Dr. Dwarika Nath Dhungel, former Secretary of Government of Nepal. Remarks on those aspects were presented by the Chief of Mardi Rural Municipality, Mr. Bedha Bahadur Gurung and Mr. Karna Gurung, Chief of Macchapuchre Rural Municipality. The Chief Guest announces his enormous thanks and best wishes for the event from the site of most tourist destination of Nepal. Vote of thanks was given by Mr. Basanta Dawadi, Local Representative of Swiss Government to Nepal.
